Donna Snyder, MD, MBE is the Executive Physician of WCG where she provides guidance at the intersection of medicine, research, and regulations. She contributes deep subject matter expertise and operational guidance across WCG to ensure that research will be conducted to the highest ethical standards.
Prior to WCG, Dr. Snyder served as the leader and Senior Pediatric Ethicist, Ethics and International Team, in the Office of Pediatric Therapeutics (OPT) under the Office of the Commissioner (OC) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She managed the Pediatric Ethics consultation service, handling agency-wide issues relating to the protection of children as human subjects in research and OPT international outreach activities, such as those related to the Pediatric Cluster. She also served on the FDA Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the FDA Pediatric Review Committee. Prior to joining the FDA in 2012, her experience included general pediatric practice, work in research ethics for both an independent IRB and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) IRB, clinical research, and consulting for the pharmaceutical industry.
Dr. Snyder received her MD from the University of Virginia, completed her internship and residency at the University of Maryland Hospital, her chief residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, a General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and a Masters in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified in Pediatrics.
