Ranga Venkatesan

IRB Chair/Vice Chair (Regulatory)

My passion for science started with my curiosity in chemistry and biochemistry in high school and pursued these interests as an undergraduate student and in the graduate school. For post-doctoral research, I choose a different path and focused attention to cancer biology and for almost a decade, I spent time in developing and characterizing transgenic mouse models of cancer. I enjoyed working on the scientific challenge of cancer development. After pursuing scientific research in the academia, in 2010, I transitioned to a biotech industry and for next three years, I learned the science and business of oncology drug development. In 2015, I shifted my career focus from scientific research to clinical research/regulatory affairs after earning masters in Biomedical regulatory affairs and certification in US FDA Regulatory affairs. Since 2017, I have also volunteered as a Board member at Fred Hutch Cancer research center’s IRB and currently work as Regulatory chair/vice chair based in the Puyallup/Seattle metro area.
