Meet one of Shedd’s penguins! During this 30-minute experience you will be right next to the action. Discover what makes these birds so amazing! During this Extraordinary Experience you will see the penguin explore, preen, play with toys, perch and gulp fish.

As you watch and get to know the penguin, you’ll learn more about their personal history and about our penguin conservation work in South Africa with the African penguins. With the trainer's guidance, you'll also have a chance to touch the bird's dense, waterproof feathers which allow them to “fly” underwater and stay warm where it’s cold! As the encounter comes to a close, there will be time for you to take a selfie with your new penguin pal. After the encounter, we’ll send you an email with a penguin ID card, so you’ll be able to recognize your new friend among the other birds on future visits.
