Dr. Workman is the VA IRB Network Director and Human Protections Administrator for the VA Central Office FederalWide Assurance.  He came to VA following time spent supporting the DoD as a Clinical Research Psychologist.  He worked for the Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE) in Silver Spring Maryland, and before that at the National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2) at Ft. Lewis (Tacoma, Washington). 

For more than a decade before that, Dr. Workman was active in research administration with responsibility for the human subject protection programs at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and at Northwestern University.  At both the UIC and Northwestern, the IRBs oversaw research conducted at the Jesse Brown VAMC. Following Northwestern, he was hired by Western IRB to be the Director of Operations and was promoted into a Vice President Role prior to WIRB becoming part of WCG.
