
Jim Wagner is senior vice president of AI and Product Innovation – Site Enablement at WCG, where he leads the expansion of artificial intelligence-driven capabilities across study start-up and site enablement workflows, following WCG’s acquisition of The Contract Network in 2026.
Previously, Jim was co-founder and chief executive officer of The Contract Network, an AI-powered platform purpose-built to simplify and accelerate clinical trial contracting and study start-up by identifying misalignments early, enabling collaborative review, and reducing downstream delays. Under his leadership, The Contract Network applied advanced AI to contract and start-up intelligence, supporting faster alignment between sponsors, sites, and CROs.
Before co-founding The Contract Network, Jim served as vice president of Agreement Cloud Strategy at DocuSign, a role he assumed following DocuSign’s acquisition of Seal Software, a recognized leader in contract analytics and AI. At Seal Software, Jim was president, overseeing strategy and growth for AI-driven legal analytics solutions used by global enterprises.
A serial entrepreneur and long-time leader in legal technology and artificial intelligence, Jim has spent more than two decades building and scaling businesses that apply AI and analytics to complex legal, regulatory, and contracting challenges. He is a co-inventor on patents in legal analytics and automation and is a frequent speaker on the practical application of AI in contracting and clinical research operations.
Jim is a graduate of Duke University School of Law and serves on the Duke Law Tech Lab advisory board, where he remains actively engaged in shaping the future of legal and AI-enabled innovation.
