Donna Katz, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, OCN is the Director of the TRIO-US Network. Donna has an extensive nursing and research background. She spent most of her career as a nurse in oncology and research. The last 22 years, Donna dedicated her time to oncology clinical trials in the outpatient setting with UCLA and the TRIO-US Network. Donna has considerable experience as a clinical research nurse coordinator and sub-investigator. Her work spans numerous trials across the oncology discipline, with a focus on breast, lung, and colorectal cancer trials. In 2019, Donna became the Director of the TRIO-US Network. In this role, Donna is responsible for the oversight and conduct of all TRIO-US clinical research studies at the 14 different sites across the United States. Donna ensures the staff and physicians at the TRIO-US sites are well-trained and educated on clinical research and trial execution. She oversees quality control and metrics for the sites, trouble shoots issues, and provides support and information.
Donna earned her nursing degree with an associate degree in 1993 from Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida. In 1995, she completed her bachelor’s degree at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She received her master’s degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner tract at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2014. She has spoken in various clinical settings on subjects ranging from oncology drug administration and nursing issues to side effect management and clinical trial success. Additionally, she holds active membership in both oncology and nurse practitioner national groups and serves on numerous pharmaceutical advisory boards and committees.
