Karen Mottola is a CR ethics and compliance generalist who enjoys designing and launching programs. Since 2021, she has been developing a research policy, education, and communications program, including the launch of set of 70+ webpages devoted to BMC research operations. As the inaugural Sutter Health research compliance officer, she led mitigations for all risk areas except research privacy. At the University of Utah, she was a CRC and an NIH writing mentor before leading the development of the CR compliance and education department, co-designing an electronic front-to-back-end billing compliance assurance system, and mentoring the FDA auditor.
